Documents and Information

This Form is used by Reverend Jason to gather information pertinent to the couple and the ceremony.

New Jersey Marriage License:

NJ Application for a marriage license.  This form must be filled out and turned in to the registrar at the municple offices in the town where one of you live.

Required documents when applying for a marriage license:

  • Proof of identity by presenting your driver’s license, passport or state/federal I.D.

  • Proof of your residency.

  • Your social security card or social security number.*

  • A witness, 18 years of age or older.

  • The $28 application fee.

 

What is next?:

Getting your completed application should take 72 hours.  It is suggested that you give at least a week.  This must be turned into the registrar in your home town.

 

You will get a new form from the registrar. Bring this form with you to the wedding ceremony.  It will need to be signed by myself and two witnesses.  This is usually a groomsman and bridesmaid, but can be family members or any two people over 18 years of age who know you.

 

After the ceremony, I will bring the completed form to the township where the ceremony took place.  The completed license will be available to you within one to two weeks, and can be picked up at the registrar's office in the municipality where the ceremony was performed.  Call the registrar's office for more information.

Pursuant to a court decision, same-sex couples must be afforded the opportunity to enter into marriage in this State. Same-sex couples must follow the same procedures and satisfy the same requirements that are imposed upon opposite-sex couples seeking to enter into civil marriage.
